Q: How many evaluation dates do I need to attend?
A: We require that attend at least one session. The more you attend the more we are able to evaluate your son’s skill set. Please be sure to contact us if you are unable to make any of the dates but still want the opportunity to be evaluated.
Q: Do I need to come to these evaluations if my son plans on playing Rec in Spring of 2026?
A: No, you should only attend if you are interested in playing on a Grad Year team in the Spring of 2026. Rec team evaluations and team formations will continue to take place in the early Spring.
Q: If I do NOT make a Grad year team, can I still play for CMRC in the Spring of 2026?
A: Of course! We will have Rec teams as well next spring, and evaluations will be held in Feb/March of 2026. You do not need to attend these evaluations if that is the case.
Q: What is the difference between Rec and Grad Year Teams?
A: It does come down to a difference of skill set as well as the commitment you are looking for. But not all Grad Year teams are the same….even if they play in the same league/division. Like Rec teams…..you will find a wide range of skill sets across many teams. Before there were Grad Year and Club Teams…..there was an “A Division”. They simply don’t offer that as it’s been replaced by the “Club division” within MYLA. The HOCO Club Team League which is played in Howard County offer’s multiple divisions……which creates great parity. The main commitment differences are the additional travel to some degree, as well as the multi-season practice/tournament schedule. Grad Year teams are comparable in cost for the Spring Season play; however, the total cost is more expensive because they play in many tournaments across all seasons.
